Cover photograph (Copyright © 2005, American Society for Microbiology. All Rights Reserved.): Nuclei from wild-type Saccharomyces cerevisiae were visualized by high-resolution confocal microscopy. A hemagglutinin-tagged form of Nup49 was used to detect nuclear pores via an antihemagglutinin antibody conjugated to Alexa 488 (green signal). The location of the nucleolus was revealed by using an anti-Nop1 antibody followed by a secondary antibody conjugated to Alexa 555 (red signal). The nucleoplasm was identified by staining with 4`,6`-diamidino-2-phenylindole (blue signal). (See related article on page 209.)
